Your Coach
Allow me to introduce myself, Krista Doebel-Hickok, your coach through the highs and the lows that are inherent to sport at all levels.
I started breaking school records in middle school. In high school, I carried this momentum—breaking the LA City Pierce College XC course record and placing top-10 in the California State meet. A full-ride scholarship, racing XC, indoor and outdoor track & field while graduating Summa Cum Laude forced me to hone in on every detail of perfomance and time management.
Even as a professional cyclist, for years I jugged a second job while racing internationally. I know how to juggle a multitude of demands in time and energy—a crucial aspect of all training programs.
A competitive season rarely goes exactly as we plan. Sometimes unexpected opportunities like racing the World Championship Road Race knock on our door. Other times, a crash takes us out just as we were finding our form. Neither experience or studies alone can best help us navigate the undulations of peak performance.
Whether outlining your annual training plan or pivoting during a training block, I lean on both my education and experience:
11-year Professional Cyclist
National Team member
Olympic Long Team member
USA Cycling Certified Coach
Full-scholarship D1 athlete
NASM Personal Trainer Certification
I believe no decision should be made without full consideration of how you are feeling physically and mentally, a thorough review of all relevant data, and a unique understanding that can come only from elite experience. As a your private coach, it I am committed to your personal best, in both outcome and process.
